Tre Marie Stracciatella Milk Cream Wafers take the flavor you know from the gelato case and rebuild it as a wafer: crisp lattice sheets layered with sweet milk creme shot through with flecks of dark bittersweet chocolate. Stracciatella means little shred, after those chocolate flecks. They are baked at Cosio Valtellino, in the Alpine Valtellina, under a Milanese bakery name Italian shoppers recognize on sight, and the script on the front, Ancora Uno, simply means one more. The bars are slim and portioned, so one is a sensible afternoon snack rather than a commitment. Have them with espresso, or alongside an actual scoop of stracciatella if you want to be thorough about it.
