Description

Riso Scotti Precooked Venere Black Rice comes already steamed, so it is ready in about two minutes. Venere is a black wholegrain rice from the paddies of northern Italy, medium grained, nutty in aroma and firm in the bite, and it holds both its color and its structure under a sauce instead of going soft and muddy. It is gluten free, grown in Italy by a family rice house that has been milling in Pavia since 1860. The color alone makes a plate look considered. Serve it under seared shrimp or scallops, toss it with pesto and cherry tomatoes, or eat it cold as a grain salad with lemon and olive oil.
