Description

Pesto Genovese by Cinquina is a delicious Italian sauce made with fresh and aromatic basil, extra virgin olive oil, refreshing garlic, nutritious pine nuts, and Italian cheese and it’s all jarred in 180 grams.

Pesto in Italian means to crush or pound something, and it can be associated with the process of pesto sauce making. This sauce originates from Genoa, the region of Liguria. People used to eat a similar sauce in ancient Rome, but with a different name, so we can say that this sauce comes from ancient times. Italy is enriched with basil, and because of that, pesto recipes quickly spread around the country. Pesto reached America only in the 1980s but ever since that, to this day, pesto sauce remains quite popular. You can check out other pesto sauces on our website!
