Semi-pearling removes only part of the outer bran, striking the balance between convenience and character: it cooks in about 25 minutes while keeping more texture than fully pearled farro, with a firm, satisfying chew and that warm, nutty, slightly earthy flavor that makes farro one of the most compelling grains in the Italian pantry.
