La Casa Del Grano Ondine Rigate Wavy Pasta is named for ondine, little waves. Each piece is a short ribbon with a rippled edge along one side and ridges across the face, so there are two different surfaces for a sauce to catch on. It is an unusual shape even in Italy. Cagliari-made, by a firm known for traditional Sardinian pasta that has kept the island's odder shapes alive. Anything creamy works, and so does a plain tomato sauce where you want the pasta itself to be the interesting part. Worth buying just to have something nobody else has.
