Description

Fiasconaro Traditional Panettone with Raisins and Orange is baked in Castelbuono, a hill town in the Madonie mountains of Sicily, by a family that has been making sweets there since 1953. A long sourdough rise gives the crumb its pull-apart strands, while Marsala and Zibibbo fortified wines, honey and candied orange peel push the flavor away from the plain Milanese style toward something unmistakably Sicilian. Those two wines are the reason it tastes richer than most panettoni. The dome comes hand-wrapped in tissue and tied with a woven ribbon, so it is ready to give as it is. Pull it apart with your hands rather than slicing, and serve with espresso or a glass of Marsala.
