Description

Colman's White Sauce Mix makes a plain white sauce with a hint of nutmeg, which is the sauce a great deal of British cooking is quietly built on. Pour it over fish or vegetables, layer it into a lasagne, or use it as the base for something else. Making white sauce from scratch is not difficult, but it does mean standing at the hob stirring, and this does not. A little extra nutmeg grated in at the end does no harm at all.
