Wu-Mu Soba Buckwheat Noodles, Zaru Soba are tasty non-fried, buckwheat noodles with no preservatives. These thin, nutritious Soba noodles are made with buckwheat and wheat flour and are high in fibre. Soba is the Japanese word for buckwheat a nutritious grain high in Vitamin B. Zaru soba is a chilled buckwheat noodle dish served with a soy-based dipping sauce called "tsuyu". The name of the dish was derived from the way the noodles were served over a bamboo strainer or "zaru" in Japanese, during the Edo Period.
Based on your preference you can serve these healthy noodles chilled with a dipping sauce, or in hot broth as a noodle soup. They are quick and easy to prepare and make a great snack or complete meal.
To prepare a serving of Wu-Mu Buckwheat Dry Noodles:
1. Pour 100g (1 cup) of noodles into boiling water and stir until the water comes back to the boil.
2. Turn down the heat to prevent boiling over or add half a cup of water to keep noodles softer. Noodles will be done in about 3 minutes
3. Eat noodles as soon as they are ready
