Naengmyeon is a cold Korean noodle dish with long thin noodles. It is prevalent in Korea during the summer. This dish was initially a delicacy in northern Korea, especially in Pyongyang in North Korea. After the Korean War, when the North Koreans moved to South Korea, Naengmyeon cold noodles became widely popular throughout South Korea as well. There are two varieties of this cold noodle dish. One is mul naengmyeon, which is cold noodles in chilled broth, and the other one is bibim naengmyeon, which comes served in a spicy sauce instead of the chilled broth.
