Make extra-crisp, restaurant-quality Japanese tempura at home with this convenient ready-to-make tempura flour. This flour blend is specially formulated with extra-fine grains for light, crispy fried tempura that's won't absorb excess oil. To make tempura at home with this mix, combine 160 millimeters of water with 100 grams of tempura flour. Whisk until you have a uniform, lump-free batter. Then simply dip your favorite tempura ingredients, such as sliced sweet potato, broccoli, shrimp, onion, and other proteins and vegetables into the batter one at a time. Fry the tempura in 170°C oil until golden and crisp. Then use a slotted spoon to transfer the cooked tempura pieces to a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess oil. Sprinkle with salt immediately out of the oil and serve hot with dipping sauces of choice.
