Biryani Curry Spice Paste is a concentrated blend of coriander, cumin, and ginger of medium heat. Biryani is a spiced Indian/Pakistani rice dish featuring basmati rice, veggies, and sometimes meat.

For Chicken Biryani (3-4 servings) You Need:

  • 2tbsp cooking oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 6 tbsp Patak's Biryani curry spice paste
  • 6 oz diced chicken breast
  • 4 oz Basmati rice (uncooked, rinsed and drained)
  • 7 oz fresh or canned tomatoes, diced
  • 1 1/4 cups water
  • 1 tsp fresh chopped cilantro leaf (optional)
  1. In a pan, gently heat the oil and saute onions until golden. Stir in Patak's biryani curry spice paste, add chicken and cook until lightly browned.
  2. Add drained rice, tomatoes and water, mix well and cover the pan
  3. Simmer on a low heat for 10-12 minutes until the rice is cooked and the water has evaporated. Garnish with chopped cilantro leaf.
