Product Description
Martin Pouret sherry vinegar is a classic condiment originating from Spain, traditionally produced in the “sherry triangle” (Spanish towns Jerez de la Frontera, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, and El Puerto de Santa Maria). It’s bold, crisp, and tart, with a well-balanced woody aroma, tailor-made to elevate a wide array of dishes!
Sherry vinegar is a gourmet condiment traditionally produced in the Spanish province of Cadiz using the renowned sherry wine, which is a type of wine produced in Jerez de la Frontera, Sanlúcar de Barrameda, and El Puerto de Santa Maria. Sherry is a fortified wine, which means that a small amount of neutral grape spirit is added to increase its alcohol content. Sherry vinegar is traditionally aged using the Solera method, and in the US it’s required by law that it should be aged in oak for at least 6 months, before claiming the renowned title! You can find many variations of sherry vinegar, including the French varieties in our wide selection!
Established in 1797 in what was the vinegar capital of France - the city of Orleans - Martin Pouret is a renowned distillery. It’s the only one left carrying on the traditions of Orleanese vinegar-making. By keeping with the authentic know-how of Orleans Master Vinegar, fermenting and oak barrel-aging the products for over a year, Martin Pouret creates some of the highest quality vinegar available today!
Sherry vinegar by Martin Pouret will make a great addition to salad dressings, sauces, and broths, but will pair exceptionally well with fish, gamey meats, and even tofu! You can go with these classic pairings or peruse our online French food store and find new combinations of your own!
