Kong Yen Rice Vinegar is a mild, sweet white rice vinegar. Rice vinegar is made from fermented glutinous rice, also called sweet rice. White rice vinegar is a colorless or pale yellow liquid, higher in acetic acid than other Chinese vinegars. The Chinese are known to have been making vinegar for over 4,000 years but the first documentation of rice vinegar comes much later in history from the Chou Dynasty in the 12th century.

Kong Yen Rice Vinegar can be used as a salad dressing, marinade, or cooked into a sauce or stir-fry. The higher vinegar content of white rice vinegar makes it the best choice for sweet-and-sour dishes and for pickling vegetables.

The Kong Yen Food Co., Ltd. was originally established in 1941 but only become known as Kong Yen in 1971. Its focus was on brewing research with an emphasis on drawing on the essence of nature and the earth's natural treasures.
