Made with 100% wet rice grown in Japan, mochi is one of the most popular foods in Japan. These mochis are pre-cut and are perfect for making yakimochi (broiled mochi). Traditionally, it is prepared using a small charcoal grill but in modern times a gas grill can be used. During the time of the Autumn Moon it is traditional to eat fresh yakimochi while sipping sake and enjoying the view of the full moon.

How to make yakimochi? Simply bake mochi at 350 F for about 5 minutes or until it puffs up and is beautifully brown.
