It was in 1768 that the young master baker Charles Fortwenger opened his workshop in Gertwiller in Alsace to make his tasty gingerbread. Two centuries later, the famous Fortwenger gingerbreads are still made with respect for tradition as their founder wished: quality ingredients, a touch of gluttony and a good dose of know-how from the preparation of the mother dough to the baking or even the decoration by hand using colored sugar, these are all steps that require know-how and knowledge of the trade.


  • Ingredient: Wheat flour, glucose-fructose syrup, chocolate 25% (sugar, cocoa mass, cocoa butter, butterfat (milk), emulsifier: sunflower lecithin), water caramelised sugar syrup, raising agents: ammonium carbonates, sodium carbonates; natural orange flavorings, salt, ginger powder <0.1%.
    Made in a factory also using: gluten (oat, barley, rye, spelt), egg, peanut, soya, nuts and sesame.
