Product Description

SKU: SR-SE-IT-53

Fiore Di Sardegna by Vantia is a traditional Sardinian cheese made from rich whole Sheep's milk. Having aged four months, Fiore Di Sardegna is buttery yet slightly sharp. This fabulous cheese has a semi-firm body and herbaceous undertones reminiscent of Sardinia's indigenous grass.

The history of sheep milk has unfolded mainly in the Mediterranean basin. Sheep's milk is robust and aromatic, resulting in a cheese that ranges from sweet and mild to rich and sharp. In an Italian Region of Tuscany, locals have their sheep graze in the mountains along the coast of the Mediterranean - the fresh sea breeze, lush pastures, and plenty of exercises make their legendary Pecorino Toscano. Similarly, Greeks only make their ancient Feta in regions with a Mediterranean climate, plenty of sunny days, and mountainous terrains. As sheep consume native plants that grow in such a unique habitat, their milk gains its irreplaceable flavor. Due to such rigorous requisites for farming sheep's milk, it has become a highly desirable commodity. Sheep Milk has a rich, creamy, and mildly sweet flavor that is impossible to replicate but possible to enjoy thanks to Southern Europeans - browse Spanish Manchego, Greek Feta, French Roquefort, Italian Pecorino, and much more in Yummy Bazaar's collection of world's best sheep milk cheeses.

Fiore Di Sardegna is brought to you by Vantia, Musco Food's private label. Musco Food is a family-run company that has been importing and distributing specialty food since 1926. Founded by the Sicilian family, it is no surprise that they launched Vantia, a label focused on distributing high-quality Italian cheese. Maintaining strong ties with producers throughout Italy, Vantia developed an extensive portfolio and soon became a household name throughout the Northeast of the United States. With many uses, serve this cheese alongside olives and sundried tomatoes, as a replacement for cheddar in sandwiches, or grated and melted on top of any dish. Layer Fiore Di Sardegna cubes with Spanish chorizo to make an exceptional aperitif.
