Fermented Sweet Rice, also known as Jiuning or Tapai, is fermented glutinous or sweet rice. It is commonly eaten as a dessert or for breakfast, and has a wine like fermented flavor to it. The meticulous selection of Taiwanese glutinous rice is based on the classic skills of the master at Ming Teh. The rice is fermented at low temperature in a traditional pottery jar. It is naturally sweet and exudes a slight wine aroma, which is a memorable appetizer. Fermented Rice can be enjoyed as a breakfast or dessert! Ming Teh Food company has been around for more than sixty years. Starting off with the famous Okayama Douban Sauce, it has successfully developed a variety of seasoning sauces and side dishes, and further refined their fermentation and pickling technology. The factory is located beside the beautiful Dagang Mountain and their vast brewing and drying fields are blessed by the strong sun in southern Taiwan. They are now best known for their doubanjians, fermented bean pastes, broad bean pastes, and other condiments.
