Product Description
Millefiori or thousand flowers are also often called wildflower honey. This is both the most common type of honey and also the rarest, made of nectars from flowers in a particular place at a particular time, it is essentially impossible to reproduce its unique color, aroma, and flavors from year to year.
The pure honey of Borgo de Medici is produced by artisanal beekeepers spread throughout Tuscany's most untouched countryside before being processed by us. The honey comes primarily from the area's mountains and hillsides, but a portion comes from the coastal and beach regions as well. All of our honey is characterized by a naturalness that can only come from untouched land and the floral and fruit-bearing plants so plentiful in our region.
In 1999, Massimo Pugi and his family founded Borgo de Medici Delizie Toscane in Prato (Tuscany). Working with some of the best artisans, farmers, and beekeepers of the region, he developed a complete line of authentic Tuscan fine food creating an ideal village (Borgo) of specialty foods (the biscotti from the bakery, the extra virgin olive oil from the olive mill, the fruit preserve from the kitchen with copper pots).
