Olli Applewood Smoked Wild Boar Salami is produced from wild boar and 100% vegetarian-fed heritage breed (an original breed of pig that was the majority found on pig farms before the industrial agriculture boom. Heritage pigs haven't been crossbred, so they're fatter and their meat is juicier) pork raised without antibiotics. This unique salami flavor combines Wild Boar’s earthy and nutty taste with applewood’s subtle sweetness. 

Salami can be traced back to the Roman Empire, where it was known as "salsum," or salted aliment. Meat was salted, or "cured," to extend its shelf life and ensure a steady supply all year. While Italian culture now boasts over 300 different types of salami, what truly distinguishes them is their region of origin and method of preparation. The famous "Genoa Salami," for example, originated in the Italian town of Genoa and is a classic fusion of fermented pork flavored with garlic, salt, and peppercorns.
