Wu-Mu Tomoshiraga Somen, Thin Somen Noodles are tasty non-fried, wheat flour noodles with no preservatives. These thin noodles and are quick and easy to prepare and have a lovely silky, smooth texture. Somen noodles are made thin by stretching the dough rather than cutting. The history of somen noodles dates back as early as the 8th century. Somen was served on special occasions and Shintos and Buddhists encouraged people to eat somen particularly during the Tanabata Festival (every 7th of July) because of its healing power to prevent serious illnessesÐa tradition that has been kept going over the years.

These noodles are best served hot or chilled with your favorite sauce. They are quick and easy to prepare and make a great snack or complete meal.

To prepare Wu-Mu Tomoshiraga Somen, Thin Somen Noodles:

1. Pour noodles into boiling water and stir until the water comes back to the boil.

2. Turn down the heat to prevent boiling over or add half a cup of water to keep noodles softer. Noodles will be done in about 2 minutes

3. Enjoy the noodles as soon as they are ready
